Error: 'Range check error' in pay advice production

Range check error appears when trying to email payslips.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you are sending email pay advices, and the range check error message appears, this can be due to the Account Name being blank in the Server Email Configuration, or the Email Payslip settings on the Employee file have not been configured correctly.

Check your settings

Account Name is blank in the Server Email Configuration

To fix:

  1. Sign in to Access MicrOpay as an Administrator agent, i.e., Admin.

  2. Select Access MicrOpay Administration, System Configuration, System Wizard.

  3. Enter the Account Name, for Payroll Online customers, enter THE ACCESS GROUP.

  4. Select Finish.

  5. Click Yes to the Message. Some changes will not take effect until you log off. Do you want to log off now?

  6. Sign in to Access MicrOpay as any user and produce your Email Pay Advices.

Note: If the above solution does not resolve your issue, please try the following scenarios.

Configure Email Payslip settings on the Employee file

Scenario 1

  1. Go to Access MicrOpay, Payroll, Maintenance, Employees

  2. Select the employee that is displaying the error message, this will be displayed in the Email Pay Advice - Progress Log (look for Sending to Email address: email - [email protected]), it will read E-mailing procedure Aborted!

  3. Double click on the employee in question, go to Pay Details, Email Address, and double click on the envelope at the end

  4. When open, you need to check that Email Payslip and Default Email are as below.

  5. If only one is ticked, click on edit and tick both.

Scenario 2
If you have 2 lines in your email settings for Email Payslip, one line with Email Payslip ticked and the other with Default Email ticked, you will also get the error message.

Please remove one email address and consolidate to one line with both options ticked, and click OK to save.

If the above solution does not resolve your case, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
