Database Audit Log Report and Change Tax Year

When you run the Change Tax Year process, fields on the employee record are updated:

  • Start Pay Summary - Changes to the start of the Tax Year (1 July).

  • Tax Scale ID - The employee remains on the same tax scale but they are updated to the tax scale relevant for the new tax year. You see this in the change in ID. E.g. the employee is attached to tax scale code 02 (ID 651) for 2025/2026, they are updated to tax scale code 02 (ID 676) for 2026/2027.

  • Variation Date - Changes to the end of the Tax Year (30 June) for all employees, even those without a variation in place. The date is only used when the Tax Type on the Employee record is Specify Rate.
