The employee counter at the bottom of the MicrOpay window compares your licensed Number of Employees to the number of Employees paid within the calendar month across all your databases. The counter will reset when you enter the first pay for a Period End Date that is within the month and can be different across databases if they are not currently in the same calendar month.

Employees who are paid multiple times in the same month are counted as one employee.
The counter will turn red when you are close to your licensed Number of Employees.
