Overview - What is included in the document download:
When a new person is added to ESS, they are automatically assigned the default Member role and added to the Unassigned team.
You can select a Member or Manager role for a person when adding (see page 2) or moving (see page 3) them to a team. You can also change (see page 7) someone’s role within a team. If more than one type of Member and/or Manager role is defined in ESS, you can choose which one to assign to the person.
A person can be a Member of multiple teams but can only have one Member role assigned. Selecting a different Member role when adding or moving them changes their Member role in all teams.
Unlike Member roles, a person who manages multiple teams can be assigned different Manager roles for each one.
An Administrator role can be assigned (see page 12) to a person. This does not affect any Member or Manager roles they may have, but they may see additional options related to the Administrator role. A person can only have one Administrator role assigned.
All roles assigned to a person, and the teams they are associated with, can be viewed (see page 14) in Teams & Roles in their profile. The Roles Report displays a list of current Role assignments and can be run for all Roles or for a specific Role type.
A person can be made an Approver of leave and/or profile changes. Approver is not a separate role and making someone an approver does not affect any other roles assigned to them.
