MicrOpay ESS - Change a member to a manager role in ESS

An employee or member is now a manager, and I need to change their role in ESS

The process of changing an employee's role from a Member to a Manager depends on whether the employee is already a member of the Team or not.

The member is not in the team

  1. Log in to ESS and select Teams.

  2. Select the Team you want to make them the Manager of.

  3. Click on the ellipsis (three dots) button and select Add a member.

  4. Enter the Member's Name.

  5. Select the employee from the list.

  6. Tick Assign as manager.

  7. Select the Manager role.

  8. Click Next.

  9. You will be given the option to Remove from any existing teams. Tick any teams that you want to remove the employee from, or leave these unticked. Employees need to be members of a Team for the approval process. If you remove the member from all Teams, you will need to add them to another Team as a member.

  10. Click Next

  11. Then click Done.

The member is currently in the team

  1. Go to Teams.

  2. Select the Team the employee belongs to.

  3. Find the member and click on the ellipsis (three dots) next to them.

  4. Select Change role.

  5. Tick Assign as manager.

  6. Click Next.

  7. If the employee:

    • belongs to another team, you will be given the option to Remove from. Tick any teams that you want to remove the employee from, or leave this blank. Employees need to be members of a Team for the approval process. If you remove the member from all Teams, you will need to add them to another Team as a member. Click Next.

    • doesn't belong to another team, you will receive a message that the user does not have a membership role in any other team and will be placed in the Unassigned team.

  8. Click Done.

  9. If you need to add them as a member to another team, select the Team.

    1. Click the ellipsis (three dots) button at the top and select Add a member.

    2. Enter the member's Name.

    3. Click Next.

    4. Select Done.
