MicrOpay ESS - Duplicate Leave Reasons are appearing in ESS

ESS uses the Leave Reason description from MicrOpay. If you have multiple Leave Reasons with the same description, e.g., you might have two Annual Leave Leave Reasons, the Leave Reason will appear multiple times in ESS.

If you need to differentiate the Leave Reasons in ESS, you will need to change the description in MicrOpay so that they are unique. To do this:

  1. Log in to MicrOpay.

  2. Go to Payroll, Maintenance, Leave, Leave Reasons.

  3. Edit the Leave Reason you want to update.

  4. Change the Description.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Log in to ESS as an Administrator.

  7. Go to Settings, General.

  8. Tick Sync from Payroll for the database with the updated Leave Reason.

  9. Click Sync.

  10. To check that the leave reason has been set up to select in Leave Applications:

    1. Go to Settings, Leave.

    2. Edit the leave type (pencil in a square) and ensure the Leave Reasons is selected.
