Update an existing super fund

An existing super fund has recently changed name and USI?

You may have an instance where an existing Super Fund has changed name, changed USI or merged with another fund. In these cases, if everyone is moving to the new USI or Fund, you can modify the existing Superannuation Fund. You should consider that modifying the existing Fund will mean that the changes will flow through to all employee records. If you don't want the change to affect all employee records, you will need create a new Super Fund.

To modify the existing Superannuation Fund:

  1. Go to Payroll, Maintenance, Superannuation, Fund.

  2. Edit the fund you need to modify.

  3. Update the fields that need to be updated, e.g. Fund Name, ABN, USI.

  4. Click OK to save the fund.

If you have updated the Fund Name and the fund has employee contributions attached, you may need to consider changing the description of the Deductions. To do this, go to Payroll, Maintenance, General, Additions and Deductions, edit the deduction and update the Description.

Editing a super fund’s name will update the name displayed on historical and future pay slips and reports. Employees may notice the updated name on their pay slips, but their contributions will continue to go to the same account.

You can't inactivate a fund. If a fund is no longer active, you can update the Fund Name, e.g. start with DNU (do not use) or ZZZ, to force it to the bottom of the fund list.
