Instructions to update or upgrade MCS

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you are running a third-party application utilising the Web API Interface, you must upgrade MicrOpay Client Service to match the hosted version.

  1. Login to the Server where the MicrOpay databases are stored.

  2. Open MCS Configuration Tool by using the Start/Windows button and find/open MicrOpay Client Configuration (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Micropay Client Service\Config).

  3. Edit each item listed in your Database List and take a screenshot of the Current Configuration. This is your backup reference.

  4. Download the latest MCS Installer from the Access MicrOpay Product Downloads page.

  5. Right-click the zip file and select Properties.

  6. Tick Unblock under Security.

  7. Unzip the file to the desktop.

  8. From MicrOpay Client Configuration, click Stop Service and then Close.

  9. Double-click the .msi file from the unzipped folder, to start the upgrade.

  10. You should receive a message 'MCS is already installed in folder C:\Folder, do you want to upgrade?'. Click Yes and follow the prompts.

  11. Once completed, open the MCS Configuration Tool.

  12. Edit each item listed in your Database list and compare the settings to the screenshots taken at step 3.

  13. From MicrOpay Client Configuration, click Start Service.

  14. To verify the logs:

    • Use the Show Logs button in the configuration tool.

    • Or check Event Viewer, Applications and Services Logs, MicropayService.
