If you are running a 3rd party application utilising the Web API Interface, you must also upgrade the MicrOpay Client Service to match the hosted version.
Please refer to the attachments below for instructions on upgrading the Service and the current software installer.
Access Group WebAPI v3.8.0.0 update
The Access Group updated Access MicrOpay WebAPI to v3.8.0.0 on Thursday, 11 June 2026. Desktop customers using MicrOpay Client Service (MCS) must download the latest MCS v3.8.1.0 to avoid any connection issues. Please click HERE to download the latest MCS version.
MicrOpay Client Service (MCS)
The Access Group wishes to advise a new version of MicrOpay Client Service (MCS) is now available for download. Please refer to the link below.
📌Note: MCS version 3.8.1.0 was released 22 June 2026 and the version is higher than the current WebAPI version. This version includes two items:
An issue that caused incorrect display of pay advices is resolved. Period dates were shown as 01/01/0001 – 01/01/0001 and no pay data was displayed in the GET api/PayAdviceSummary and GET api/PayAdvicePDF response. This was due to a mismatch of pay period IDs in the applicable database view, following change of tax year in MicrOpay payroll.
Pay Advices not syncing from MicrOpay to DESS, following the MCS v3.8.0.0 release, is resolved. This was due to new fields added to the pay advice API being missing from the sync endpoint used by DESS, resulting in a data mapping failure.
See Install or Configure MicrOpay Client Service for more information.
You may disregard this information if you do not use MicrOpay Client Service (MCS) for our ESS product or a 3rd party integration.
Payroll Online and Outsourcing customers do not need to download the MCS, as we update your software to the correct version for your environment.
What is changing?
This release expands the API with new endpoints to retrieve Additions and Deductions, Leave Reasons, Pay Classes, additional Super Funds details, RDO Balances, Tax Scales, Pay Rate History, and Leave Class configuration from MicrOpay, while enhancing existing endpoints to surface additional payroll data including YTD figures and Cost Accounts for EmployeeTransactionSummary. It also includes compliance improvements for NZ Payday Filing, address field constraints aligned to MicrOpay database limits, and improved diagnostic logging for faster incident resolution.
For more details on what's included, see API change log.
