ESS uses two MicrOpay Evo fields to drive the calculation of days for leave.
Contract Hours (Pay Details on the employee record) is used to calculate the number of days leave an employee has in their Leave Balance (right side of the Leave window in ESS).
Work Pattern (Work Pattern on the employee record) is used to calculate the number of hours and days for a given date range in an application. The application will also take into account the Public Holiday Planner that is associated with the employee's Location (Pay Details of the employee record) when calculating the number of hours and days for the leave application.
Where there is no Work Pattern, the leave application can't calculate the number of hours (or days) the employee is applying for. This is the same, if the employee is applying for leave that falls on a day that they don't work according to their Work Pattern. An employee can manually enter the number of leave hours in the application. However, no days will calculate.
If a Work Pattern is assigned to the employee after a leave application has been entered, the days won't update, but the next leave application will calculate the number of hours and days.
Note: If there is no connection between MicrOpay Evo and ESS when an employee applies for leave, then no hours or days will be calculated in the application. The employee can manually enter the hours, however the days won't update when the connection is re-established.
