An employee can apply for leave themselves, or a leave application can be entered on their behalf.

When you enter a leave application, if no hours or days populate, a message will also display under the leave hours: You have no work hours in this period. Please contact your ESS Administrator if this occurs; you may not be attached to the correct Work Pattern in MicrOpay.
How to apply for leave in ESS as an employee
Sign in to ESS.
Click Apply for Leave from the Dashboard.
Enter the Start date and End date of the leave.
Select the Reason for the application.
The Leave hours and days will automatically populate based on your assigned Work Pattern. You can overwrite the hours if the leave is for a part day or if no hours are populated.
To include an attachment, e.g., a Medical Certificate, click in Attachment and use the Open window to locate the file. Click Open when complete.
Click Apply.
If you change dates or hours, you may need to click Check Balance before Apply is available.
How to apply for leave in ESS on behalf of an employee
Locate the employee you need to enter the application for.
Select Leave.
Click the Add button.
Enter the Start date and End date of the leave.
Select the Reason for the application.
