Change the Pay Frequency for an Employee

How do I change the pay frequency or pay cycle for an Employee

Updated over 3 months ago

To change an Employee's Pay Frequency:

  1. Go to Payroll, Maintenance, Employees, Employees.

  2. Edit the Employee.

  3. Select Pay Details.

  4. Change the Pay Frequency.

  5. On Rate Details, update the Normal Hours Paid and review the rates.

  6. Review Bank Details. If the employee has bank splits, update the Amount(s) by editing them. Click OK to save the changes to Bank Accounts.

  7. Review Additions & Deductions. Make necessary amendments by editing them and then clicking OK to save the changes to Additions and Deductions.

  8. Review Superannuation. Edit any Contributions that need updating and click OK to save the changes to Superannuation.

  9. Review RDO Details. You will need to select an RDO class that matches the employee's Pay Frequency.

  10. Review other Detail screens to ensure nothing else needs to be changed.

  11. Click OK to save the changes to the Employee.

Note: Changing an employee's Pay Frequency won't affect the amounts in STP Reporting or Update. However, if you filter reports, e.g. Payroll Report, by Frequency, you will only extract the pays relating to the chosen Frequency. To balance the Employee's whole year-to-date amounts, you will need to include both Frequencies.
