IQs are a series of reports that retrieve data from the currently selected payroll database using queries, called IQ Queries. The results are displayed in a grid. The grid data can then be saved for use in other applications or displayed on a chart.
IQ Queries retrieve large volumes of data from pre-defined tables. Often, this will provide more than required, so IQ queries can be customised to return only relevant fields. This is done by copying an existing IQ query and adapting it to suit your reporting requirements. When you customise an IQ, you choose which columns to display and in which order. You cannot change the format of the data displayed (e.g. date format, number of decimal places, etc.). To change the format, use Save Grid to export the data to Excel and use Excel formatting.
Customise a MicrOpay IQ report
Go to Common, MicrOpay IQ, and highlight the IQ to be customised.
Right-click and select Copy.
Enter a unique alphanumeric Code of up to 10 characters. You cannot use the letters IQ for the first two characters. They are reserved for standard queries.
Enter a relevant Description.
Type is an optional field used to group IQ queries. The options available in the Type dropdown list are:
Custom - Any IQ Query customised or created by Agents, i.e., User-Defined IQ Queries.
HR - All Human Resources-related Reserved IQ Queries.
Payroll - All Payroll-related Reserved IQ Queries.
Add your own Type by keying it in.
Tick the Show checkbox next to each Column Name to include it as a default in the grid. Fields that don't have Show ticked will still be available to add to the grid using Customer Grid Columns.
Use Deselect All button to untick all Column Names.
Use Select All to tick all Column Names.
Assign a number to each column in the Order field to determine the order the returned fields are displayed in the grid. The lowest value with Show ticked will be first column in the results. A number can only be allocated once.
Click OK to save your customised report and close the window.
