If an Employee has had a pay rate change in MicrOpay, the amount accumulated in the RDO Leave screen will not recalculate based on this new hourly rate.
The RDO Accumulated Amount may appear incorrect in the Payroll, Maintenance, Employees, Employees, RDO Details screen based on the number of hours multiplied by the Employee’s current hourly rate. This amount is based on the Employee’s rate at the time the RDO Deduct and Pay occurred. If an Employee has had a pay rate change, the amount accumulated will not recalculate based on this new hourly rate.
For example, an Accumulated Amount has been calculated on the Employee’s rate at the time of the RDO deduct, which was $31.3750 * 6 RDO Deduct hours = $188.25. If this employee has a pay rise from $31.3750 to $35.0000 and a transaction is entered in MicrOpay, the hourly rate used for the RDO will be calculated using the Employee’s new hourly rate.
When a new transaction to process RDO Pay and RDO Deduct is completed, these will be based on the new hourly rate of $35.0000.
After the pay end is completed, the Accumulated Amount in the RDO details will show as a negative amount for the example above, as the original RDO deduction value was calculated using the Employee’s previous hourly rate, and the last RDO Pay and Deduct are using the Employee’s current hourly rate.
If you would like to have the RDO Accumulated Amount value reflect the Employee’s current hourly rate multiplied by the Accumulated Hours, you would need to manually update this field in the Payroll, Maintenance, Employees, Employees, RDO Details.
If an Employee is to be terminated and you have the Pay out on Termination field ticked in Payroll, Maintenance, Leave, RDO, the balance of the Employee’s RDO hours and amount will appear in the Total ETP Components screen.
If the Employee has received a pay increase over the period of employment and the RDO amount is not updated to reflect the new rate, then the Amount may appear incorrectly in the Termination. The example below appears as a Rate of $32.3887 and an RDO balance of 4 Hours, but the Amount appears incorrectly as $71.34.
To update the Amount so it is paid out at the current hourly rate, you can either type in the hours or the rate again. This will then recalculate the Amount to be paid.
The Payroll, Reports, End Of Pay, Employee RDO Report will also reflect the Amount that is displayed in the Employee’s RDO Details screen at the time the report is printed.
