Payroll Tax General Ledger Batch is incorrect

The Payroll Tax General Ledger Batch is too high or too low or is missing components or cost accounts or has included a component multiple times

Updated this week

The Payroll Tax General Ledger Batch is calculated by multiplying the Payroll Tax Values by a percentage. If the values calculated in the Payroll Tax GL batch are incorrect then you need to check that the Payroll Tax Batch is correct and that the correct components have been selected in the Payroll Tax setup.

To check the Payroll Tax Batch:

  1. Go to General Ledger Integration, Maintenance, Batches, Batches.

  2. Edit the Payroll Tax batch.

  3. Select the Details tab.

  4. Edit the Payroll Tax Detail Line you want to review.

  5. Ensure that Percentage is correct for the Payroll Tax setup

  6. Check that each required Payroll Tax Category is only included once with the correct Cost Account.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Check each Detail Line in the batch and ensure that the Payroll Tax Code hasn't been included more than once, e.g. SA Payroll Tax is only included in one Payroll Tax Detail line.

  9. Click OK.

To check the Payroll Tax Setup:

  1. Go to Payroll, Maintenance, Payroll Tax, Payroll Tax.

  2. Edit the Payroll Tax.

  3. Then Edit the Category.

  4. Ensure that the correct Pay Components, Additions/Deductions, Leave Reason, User Defined Leave and Employment Type have been selected for the Category.

    • Note: Leave Reasons will be available if Other Leave is selected as a Pay Component and User Defined Leave will be available if User Defined Leave is selected as a Pay Component.

  5. Click OK.

  6. You will need to review each Category.

  7. Click OK.

Note: Pay Components, Additions/Deductions etc may be selected in multiple categories if you have created categories for different employment types. For example, Normal might be selected in the Apprentices and Trainee Wages category, which is for Apprentice and Trainee Employment Types and in the Salaries and Wages category, which is for all other Employment Types.
