New Zealand - Error when clicking Export to IRD in Pay Day Filing 'Export to File(s) failed! Reporting Error: Couldn't save Payday Header information to the database. Reported Error: String or binary data would be truncated.'

This error occurs when the Employer IRD (Inland Revenue Department) number is incorrect. There are two places you need to check and, if required, amend the IRD number. They are the Company Details and Payroll Company. An IRD number can have a maximum of nine characters.

Company Details

To check the Company Details:

  1. Go to Common, Maintenance, Company Details.

  2. Check the IRD is correct.

  3. If you are reporting as an intermediary, click on the Payday tab and check the IRD Number.

  4. Click OK to save any changes.

Payroll Company Details

You will need to perform the steps below for each Payroll Company record. To check:

  1. Go to Payroll, Maintenance, General, Payroll Companies.

  2. Edit the Payroll Company.

  3. Check the IRD.

  4. Click OK to save any changes.
