When your ESS user account is activated, you are sent a Welcome email that contains your username and a link to the ESS Sign up page.
The email has the subject line Welcome to ESS and is sent to your ESS Notifications email address. This is an email address that is nominated in your ESS profile to receive notification emails. It could be your work email address or a personal email address that you have provided. If you are unsure which address is being used for notifications, your Manager or ESS Administrator should be able to assist.
The email also contains an activation link to the ESS Sign up page. You need to use this link to activate your account. You cannot use Forgot Password on the ESS log in page as your account is not yet active.
To sign into ESS for the first time, you need to:
Use the activation link in the email to open the ESS Sign up page.
Sign up for ESS by entering and confirming a new password.
Register an authentication application (app) for use with ESS.
Authentication apps are used to support Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) when signing into ESS, by generating a random code that you must enter before you can sign in.
You may already use an authentication app, but if you don't, you will need to download and install one before you can sign into ESS.
Refer to What is Multi Factor Authentication? (page 10 in the document below) for more information about MFA and using an authentication app with ESS.
