As a person's name is entered into a Name field, e.g., to add/move them to a team or set them up as an approver, ESS displays a list of possible matches. Sometimes, the person may not be included in the list because:
The list sorts the results alphabetically by first name, first.
Displays the first five matched records based on the characters entered in the field.
Where there are more than five people who match the entered characters, the person you are searching for may not be included in the list.
β
The more characters you enter, the more refined the search results will become. If the person has a common first or surname, then entering both names into the field will assist in finding them.
β
For example, if you are searching for Samuel Johns, using John from his surname. He may not appear in the list because there are more than five people with the first name John or whose full name is alphabetically before his, e.g., Betty Johnson.
β
If you added more characters, e.g., Johns or used his first and surname, Samuel Johns, to refine the results, he should appear in the list.
