Upgrade MicrOpay instructions

Updated over 3 months ago

Received the below message when logging into a MicrOpay database:

'Payroll Database 'Database name' and Common Database 'EvolutionCommon' require upgrading to the latest version.'

Two parts need to be performed when you upgrade MicrOpay:

  1. Upgrade the program files; this needs to be completed on each instance where MicrOpay is installed.

    • Note: With MicrOpay Evo version 9.4, a new folder under Program Files (x86) will be created, called Access MicrOpay Evo. You can delete the old folder (Access MicrOpay) once the upgrade is complete.

  2. Upgrade the database. This is performed once per database when an Admin user logs into MicrOpay using updated program files.

You will also need to upgrade the database when you restore a backup that was taken before the upgrade is performed. You will receive a message advising this when you try to log in.

It is recommended that, before performing an upgrade that you backup both the Payroll and EvolutionCommon databases. You can do this using the Backup & Restore button on the Sign in window.

There are two ways to upgrade MicrOpay:

  • Downloading the MicrOpay Installer on each PC where MicrOpay is installed, then using it to download and run the upgrade.

OR

  • Downloading a zip file containing the upgrade files, then running the upgrade.
