Error: ‘Gateway error: Lump Sum Financial Year must be within 10 years of the financial year of the Pay/Update Date and prior to the current financial year’ in STP Reporting

You may receive this error for two reasons:

  • processed Global Backpays from Update Pay Rates

  • allocated Lump Sum E values to the current financial year

Global Backpays from Update Pay Rates

If you receive this error and used the Global Backpay function in Update Pay Rates to create backpays that included Lump Sum E values, the Lump Sum E values won't be associated with a Financial Year. To resolve this, contact support via MyAccess. Reference this article in your case and attach the results of IQ-LSETRANS - Lump Sum E transactions. To run IQ-LSETRANS:

  1. Go to Common, IQ.

  2. Double-click on IQ-LSETRANS - Lump Sum E transactions.

  3. Enter a Pay Frequency Code and Payroll Company Code or leave them blank to include all.

  4. In Value enter the Tax Year. This is the Tax Year in which you paid the Lump Sum E.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Use Save Grid to save the results to a file, e.g. Excel.

Lump Sum E values allocated to the current financial year

Lump Sum E should be used for backpays that relate to periods more than 12 months ago, therefore the current financial year shouldn't be used. If you have allocated Lump Sum E to the current financial year. You will need to:

  • Use a Manual Calc Subtract to reverse the Lump Sum E value and select the current financial year when prompted. This should result in zero Lump Sum E for the current financial year.

  • Use Backpay to enter a standard backpay, see process a Backpay.
