Hosted Online - Unblock RDP file and enable resource permissions

Issues when launching remote desktop, including can't access or find the home drive, connection prompts, missing clipboard, can't access printers or launch issues

After a Windows update, you may experience difficulties launching or working in the Remote Desktop (RemoteApp) app. To resolve, you need to unblock the MicrOpay RDP file and enable permissions for all RemoteApp resources.

There are three steps to this process:

  1. Unblock MicrOpay Remote Desktop (RDP)

  2. Launch and configure the connection

  3. Log in to the Hosted environment

Before proceeding, ensure you are completely logged out of MicrOpay and the Remote Desktop.

Step 1: Unblock MicrOpay RDP

If you have already unblocked the RDP, you can skip to step 2: Launch and configure the connection.

  1. Locate and right-click on your Access MicrOpay RDP icon/file on your computer.

  2. Select Properties

  3. The General tab should open.

  4. Tick Unblock at the bottom. If Unblock isn't available, then you have already unblocked the RDP.

  5. Click Apply, then OK.

Step 2: Launch and configure the connection

  1. Double-click the RDP icon to launch.

  2. When the RemoteApp security window appears, tick all available resource options (Drives, Clipboard, Printers, etc.).

  3. Optionally, you can also tick Remember my choices for remote connections from this publisher if you don't want to select the resource options each time.
