There are times when comparing leave balances between MicrOpay and Definitiv that a difference will occur. This is expected and normal, as the two systems show different stages of the leave cycle.
MicrOpay shows leave that has been accrued and paid in the payroll system to the end of the last completed pay period.
Leave Balance = Entitlement + Pro Rata - Taken
Definitiv shows the employee's balance less any approved or pending leave applications that have been entered into Definitiv but are not yet paid to the employee.
Leave Balance = Entitlement - Approved - Pending
What this means:
If an employee has an outstanding leave application in Definitiv, the balance in Definitiv will be lower.
If leave doesn't have an application in Definitiv but has been paid in MicrOpay and the sync process hasn't been completed, the balances may be different.
When you see a difference:
Check Definitiv for any future leave applications.
Check MicrOpay for what leave has been paid in the past periods.
You may see negative leave balances in Definitiv where future-dated leave applications are greater than the current accrual. This will correct itself as leave accrues in the lead up to the leave dates.
