You can enter Employment Termination Payments (ETPs) using manual calculation add. If you enter an ETP using this method, you need to calculate the Tax manually. When you enter the ETP Tax, enter whole dollars only. For more information on how to calculate ETP Tax and the ETP code, refer to the ATO link below:

Enter ETP in a Manual Calculation Add

  1. Go to Payroll, Transactions, Processing, Manual Calculation.

  2. Select the Employee.

  3. Click Add.

  4. To include the net pay in an EFT file, ensure Generate Payment is ticked.

  5. Select Termination Component from the Pay Summary and click Add.

  6. From the Component drop-down, select the ETP component you need to enter.

  7. Enter the ETP amount in Value.

  8. In ETP Tax, enter the amount you calculated in whole dollars.

  9. Select the ETP Summary Code. The code you choose will depend on the reason you are paying the ETP and the Financial Year that it belongs to.

  10. Select Tax (Incl Adjust), click Add and enter the amount of the ETP Tax in Value. If you have included other payments in the Manual Calculation, the value you enter should be the total amount of Tax, including the ETP Tax.

  11. Click Process to save the transaction.
