New Zealand - KiwiSaver doesn't balance between the Reconciliation and IQB-ESCT Reports in NZ database

There is a discrepancy in the super values between the Rec Report and the IQ in New Zealand

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Should you find a difference between the KiwiSaver or Employer Super values on the Reconciliation Report compared to the IQ-ESCT reports use the below IQ report to identify where the differences are coming from.

You will need to import the IQ before you can run it.

Import IQ:

  1. Download the XML file from the link above and save it to your desktop.

  2. In MicrOpay Evo, go to Common, IQ.

  3. Click Import.

  4. Locate IQNZPYDYEX.xml that you saved to your desktop at step one.

  5. Click Import. This will import the IQ.

  6. You will receive a message confirming that it has been imported. Click OK.

Run the IQ:

  1. In Common, IQ, double-click on IQNZPYDYEX.

  2. Enter the first period you want to include as the Period End Date From.

  3. Enter the last period you want to include as the Period End Date To.

  4. Click OK to run the report.

You will see details for any Super Employer transactions where the value on the Reconciliation Report is different to what is included in the ESCT reports. The details will include the Employee, Period End Date and the values.

Verify if the difference reported needs to be actioned:

  • Employees who have a complying fund - their Employer Contribution values won't appear on the Reconciliation Report but will be in the ESCT IQs. Have these been reported to the Complying Fund?

  • Employees where the Employer Contribution was a negative amount (e.g. Manual Calculation Subtract) - their Employer Contribution and ESCT values won't appear on the Reconciliation Report but will be in the ESCT IQs. Have these been reported to the IRD via MyIR?

  • Transactions which have had the ESCT values calculated but have since been deleted - these will have values on the IQ-ESCT reports but there won't be a corresponding transaction in MicrOpay. Raise a case online and reference the title of this article.
