In addition to changing the rate and employment details when an employee moves from Casual to Permanent employment, it is necessary to assign sick and annual leave calculations as of the date of permanent employment.

Casual employees do not receive annual leave or sick leave, as the casual rate of pay is normally higher to compensate for this.
Note: Casual employees are entitled to accrue Long Service Leave from commencement and so should already have a Long Service Leave class attached to their employee record.
If a casual employee was not attached to a Long Service Leave class from the start of their employment, you will need to manually calculate the accrued Long Service Leave pro rata hours and enter these in the Prorata Hours field.

Unlike Annual and Sick leave, the Entitlement date for Long Service Leave may reflect the employee's actual start date rather than the date they assumed a permanent position. Check with your Human Resources department for confirmation of which date should be used.
Note: You do not have to create a new employee code for permanent employment.
