If you are unable to generate your General Ledger file, this usually means that the file path is not valid, or you have no file layout attached to the GL.
Check the following:
Go to General Ledger Integration, Maintenance, Batches, Batches.
Edit the Batch that doesn't generate a file.
On the Batch File tab, ensure that the correct File Layout has been selected.
Check that the path, filename and extension in Filename are valid and that you have permission to write to the location.
If the name or the path are incorrect, you should also update the File Layout. To do this, go to General Ledger Integration, Maintenance, Batches, GL File Layout.
Edit the File Layout that is linked to the Batch.
On the File Detail tab update the Name of the Output File, Extention of Output File and Path of the Output File as required.
