Initial Balance

The field initial balance appears in the following:

  • Payroll, Transactions, General, Update Leave Entitlements

  • Payroll, Transactions, Adjustments, Leave Entitlement Adjustment

When selected, Initial Balance will capture an employee's total entitlement in the General Ledger, Leave Liability Batch.

When it is not selected, you will capture the employee's accrual for the Leave Entitlement Date selected. This will enable the accrual movement to be calculated correctly for the period.

Note: If Initial Balance was selected by mistake, you'll need to restore a backup taken before leave was updated, for the General Ledger Leave Liability Batch, not to capture an employee's total entitlement.
